How has the FORS Practitioner model changed?
We have designed a more flexible approach to achieving FORS Practitioner status. To gain FORS Practitioner status, from 1 April 2023, you will need to complete six mandatory and a choice of four optional modules; and it needs to be achieved within 12 months from completing your first module.
Previously, to gain FORS Practitioner status, you needed to complete ten mandatory modules.

I am already a FORS Practitioner but interested in attending the new modules, is this possible?
Yes, all the modules can be completed individually or when working towards your Practitioner status. As you are already a FORS Practitioner, any additional modules you complete will not count towards your certification but can be used to evidence your FORS Professional Development.
Can I attend the modules even if I am not interested in becoming a FORS Practitioner?
Yes, all the modules can be completed individually or when working towards your Practitioner status.
If I am already a FORS Practitioner, will this affect the expiry date of my certificate?
No, the expiry date of your FORS Practitioner certificate is not affected.
I am a FORS Practitioner and my certificate is due to expire. Can I attend FORS Practitioner Recertification or I need to complete the new modules first?
Yes, you can attend FORS Practitioner Recertification as long as your current certificate is still valid.
My FORS Practitioner certificate is expiring soon, when should I attend FORS Practitioner Recertification?
You must complete FORS Practitioner Recertification prior to your certificate expiry date. You will need to start your FORS Practitioner journey again if your certificate expires.
How long are my training records valid for?
For each individual module, your training record is valid for five years.
If you wish to become a FORS Practitioner, each module has 12 months validity. You will need to complete all ten modules required for FORS Practitioner in 12 months from the completion of your first module.
Advanced Practitioner programme
What is Advanced FORS Practitioner?
Advanced FORS Practitioner is a qualification, that recognises and demonstrates your professional development in fleet management.
How can I become an Advanced FORS Practitioner?
You can achieve Advanced FORS Practitioner by completing all 15 FORS Practitioner training modules in addition to the training modules required for FORS Practitioner.
I am already a FORS Practitioner, can I still start my journey towards Advanced FORS Practitioner?
Yes! You just need to complete the additional five Practitioner training modules before your FORS Practitioner expires.
Does the Advanced FORS Practitioner qualification extend the validity of my FORS Practitioner?
No. The validity of your Advanced FORS Practitioner qualification is the same as your FORS Practitioner.
What is the validity of my Advanced FORS Practitioner qualification?
Your Advanced FORS Practitioner expires when your FORS Practitioner expires. Be careful to ensure there is sufficient validity on your FORS Practitioner – it might be worth attending FORS Practitioner Recertification to give you a further five years validity on your FORS Practitioner.
I don't know how many FORS Practitioner training modules I have completed, how can I check this?
You can check your training records using the FORS Professional training register. This is a register of FORS Professional training undertaken by FORS members, whether eLearning or classroom. You can search the register by name, organisation or training name, as well as export the data to a spreadsheet.
Where can I use the FORS Practitioner and FORS Advanced Practitioner logo?
You can use it on your email signature, on your company website or any other place where you list your experience and certifications.
How do I book the courses?
You can book your place on the FORS Professional Booking Platform. You can check which courses you’ve completed on the FORS Professional Training Register.
How much time do I have to achieve Advanced Practitioner?
You can complete the additional courses at any time within the validity of your Practitioner qualification. For example, if your Practitioner qualification expires 31 December 2023, you must complete the additional courses by 31 December 2023 for you to achieve Advanced Practitioner status.
I have recently renewed my FORS Practitioner status by attending the FORS Practitioner Recertification course, can I still become an Advanced Practitioner?
Yes, you can. By completing Practitioner training modules 11-15 within the validity of your FORS Practitioner status, you will achieve FORS Advanced Practitioner status.
